History of Give Love Give Life:
Marcheline Bertrand and John Trudell, developed the concept of ‘Give Love Give Life’ as a means to raise public awareness about women’s cancers. Their thought was to utilize music as a means to raise the resources vital to combating ovarian and other gynecological cancers.

Marcheline and John produced the first Give Love Give Life concert in February, 2004 at the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood. Over the course of the next year, they together organized strategic support in the music and film community for Johanna’s Law, legislation to fund national outreach and education about the signs and symptoms of gynecological cancers. That legislation was signed into law on Friday, January 12, 2007.

The two partners joined with Dave Bushell, Debra MacCulloch and other members of the Hollywood community to produce a February, 22, 2007 Give Love Give Life concert for the Women’s Cancer Research Institute at Cedar Sinai Medical Center, featuring Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne and John Trudell at the Gibson Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

During the summer of 2006, it was decided to make women’s health and national health insurance for women and children a focal point of Give Love Give Life. The sanctity of women remains the core of Give Love Give Life.

Marcheline passed on from ovarian cancer on January 27, 2007. Give Love Give Life is a continuation of Marcheline’s work, interwoven with her prayers and dreams for a healthier world.
